In my earlier life, I gained an MA in English Language and Literature, then trained and worked as a secondary school teacher. While my children were young I was fully involved in the NZ Parents’ Centre and Playcentre movements, becoming a community educator for Waikato University Extension Dept. In the 1970s and 80s I was a part-time teacher, and a voluntary facilitator in many Leadership Training Laboratories around NZ.
In the ‘80s I re-trained as a Counsellor, took leadership roles in the Anglican Church, and worked full-time on the Human Development Team of Presbyterian Support in Auckland. In 1991 I was a founding Director of the Human Development and Training Institute of NZ, and Director of Counsellor Training; while continuing to train as a Psychotherapist. My primary models of therapy are Person-Centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis and Dreamwork.
I am the NZ Representative of the International Association for the Study of Dreams.
In my private life, I enjoy reading, writing, singing, travelling and doing jigsaws!
