Dream of the Month

On the Brink

Inner World Dream

Cliff was on a journey of self-discovery. After a meditation in which he practised letting go of conscious “chatter” to open up to the Universal Mind, he had a vivid dream.
Dream Report:              On the Brink
I’m looking at an intensely vivid blue sky, very beautiful, and I think Wow! I’ve got clear vision! What can I see?
Then I’m standing on a road in a small seaside resort by the coast. There’s a sandy beach with gentle waves. I want to look at the people here. I see a young guy in his 20s in casual dress. He’s looking at me like he knows me, although I know he comes from another world. A young woman joins us. We are looking for his spaceship so he can go home. There’s a bridge down to the beach, and  we realize he has hidden his spaceship by using parts of the spaceship to build the bridge. He seems to have a private agenda, a plan. I feel intrigued about it.
We find a big sheet of cardboard or paper with his alien symbols on it. A boy of about 11 joins us, and shows how, if you fold the cardboard over, the symbols match up and start to animate. I am almost understanding the message when I wake up.
I feel as if there’s another world opening up to me, an inner spiritual world. The sea is infinity and the guy is a part of myself.

This seems to be a modern version of an archetypal scene: standing on a beach with a guide and a map, preparing to take off to a new world, having to trust others to know the way. This time it’s a spaceship which is also a bridge, a link between conscious and unconscious worlds; and the guide is a young man, both alien and familiar, assisted by a boy who translates, in much the same way as today’s children are far more confident with new technology than the generation before them. The mood is one of excitement and enlightenment, when Cliff becomes aware that he has reached a place of “clear vision.” No wonder he feels himself to be “on the brink” of discovery!
